Dr Nicola Fox is to become NASA's Head of Science. British Scientist from Hertfordshire begun working for NASA in 2018 as the former director of Heliophysics, the division which oversees the agency's efforts to study the Sun and how its constant solar wind affects Earth and other planets. 

Fox started her new role as Head of Science on the 27 February, stating "It's the role of a lifetime, I could not be more excited". In 2021, Dr Fox was awarded the American Astronautical Society's Carl Sagan Memorial Award and was the recipient of Nasa's Outstanding Leadership Medal, awarded in 2020.
